What we repair

  • If you need your Tech 12s fixed. Don’t go anywhere else! See our pricing guide here.

We have built a reputation on our ability to bring Technics SL-1200s and SL-1210s back from the dead. (We can also do the easier stuff, too.) After over a decade fixing these units, we can humbly say that our experience in solving problems from noisy RCA cables to jittery motors has given us a deep insight into how these units work (and break), and how to fix them.

We even have a supply of custom-made parts and refurbished items, including 3-D printed plastic parts, custom circuit boards, and a tonearm refurbishment process designed to make any broken tonearm better than factory.

And yes, we really have worked on turntables used by Grandmaster Flash, Rob Swift, ?uestlove, Talib Kweli, Hot 97, and a laundry list of young DJs who are in the process of blowing up.

P.S. If you’re famous and we didn’t recognize you—We’re really sorry! We’re kinda nerds and don’t get outta the shop too much.*

*This has happened more than we’d like to admit

For vintage equipment, or any synths not on our list, please email first.

  • Repairs on delicate studio equipment

We provide diagnostics and repairs on mic preamps, compressors, and some effects units.

Some brands we’ve worked on: Vintech (and other Neve clones), API, Buzz Audio, Valley People, Eventide, Retro, UA.

We are not working on studio monitors at this time.

  • Mackie, JBL, EV, some QSC

We can help with most powered and passive professional speakers. Before you head over with your 18” sub, why not email us first so we can make sure parts are available for your unit?

We are currently not working on rack mount amps.

  • Sorry, but we DO NOT* repair the following:

    -Bluetooth speakers, Sonos, or Bose.

-Home hifi amps, cassette or CD players.

    -Car Audio

    -Console/integrated units: record players, stereos

    -Electronic or acoustic pianos

    -Most vintage turntables (see below)

-Turntables from Crosley, Victrola, or Urban Outfitters

    -We do not re-cone speakers.

Vintage turntables: Every old record player has a story, and we love the idea of keeping your vintage turntable out of the landfill. Unfortunately, we have found that many times, parts are unavailable, if not very scarce. Good news is that we can often do things like RCA cord swaps which is often the only thing needed to bring your player back to life. Other jobs, like fixing a broken auto-return arm, or replacing a motor which has gone bad, are just not our cup of tea. Believe us, we love to fix things! But sometimes, we might need to say no. We hope you understand ❤️

  • We love our reputation of being a good repair shop, but sometimes our name ends up in unspeakable places. Here’s a running list of some of the stuff that, for some reason, people thought we could fix:

hover board, slot machine, macbook charger, washing machine, polymer printing machine, smart watches, some mysterious electro-mechanical doomsday doodad, blenders, cars, TVs, random CD player, sneakers, xbox360, trumpet, signs for businesses, karaoke speaker, video camera, drones, computers/video cards for MacBooks, boilers, industrial food mixer, Dyson fan, flutes, Kodak slide projector, computer monitor, laserdisc player, AirPods, Nintendo switch, heaters, car underglow kit, iron, “recovery” (?), TV with built-in VCR, headphones…

but don’t let that stop you from asking…
