Here are some topics to help you get to know about our repair process

We specialize in DJ and professional audio equipment.
Keep in mind:
We are a supporter of the DJ and pro audio community, and are proud to be your go-to shop, for Pioneer, Technics, and so much more.
We use factory-fresh parts. In the case of discontinued parts, like on a Technics 1200, we use custom, guaranteed replacement parts.
Repairs are limited to availability of parts. For old/rare equipment, please reach out before you stop in.
We don’t want you to waste your money! While a $100 mixer from ebay might be your secret sauce, the repair fees might push well beyond replacement costs.
Email us if you are not sure, and we’ll help you determine if we’re the right shop for you.

Standard: currently our queue is about 4 weeks. This means once we reach your place in the queue, we will begin diagnostic work. Sometimes repairs are fully completed at this time, and sometimes we may need to add time to order parts, or wait for your approval on a quote.
Important tip: the older the equipment, the more the risk of parts being back ordered (additional wait time.) We do everything we can to keep it quick, but you may need to make backup plans for mission-critical gear.
-
Express: For an additional fee, you can jump to the front of the line. This means that we will complete our diagnostic and order any needed parts as soon as possible. Repairs can be as short as a couple days.
As with our standard turnaround time, backordered parts may add wait time, especially for older or unusual equipment. The good news is that we will order parts as soon as possible, so the wait will still be shorter than our standard turnaround time.

Here is our pricing cheat sheet:
For each repair there is a $100 to 200 minimum fee depending on the equipemtn which covers the first hour of labor, cleaning, and calibration. A $50 non-refundable part of that bench fee is paid up front. ($175 for express repairs.)
We’ll perform our diagnostic work, and if the repairs require more labor or parts, we will reach out to you via email for approval. If you approve, we will proceed with the work. Payment occurs once repairs are complete.
If you decide it is not in your interest to continue, you owe us nothing more! Declined repairs are reassembled, and returned to you, or you can ask us to dispose of your equipment.
Any additional parts (like faders, circuit boards, knobs, etc) will be added as a separate cost.
Additional labor beyond the first hour is charged at a rate of $100 per half hour. Additional labor is sometimes needed for large and/or complex repairs.Quick tip: DJ controllers generally require additional labor, as they can be large and more complicated than other work.

We accept shipped repairs.
Important stuff:
Package your equipment well and insure it for replacement value! Please don’t skimp on this. Insuring a vintage Bozak for the bare minimum is rolling the dice with the devil.
include your contact info: name, address, phone, email, shipping address and any notes to your technician. Unmarked equipment = unloved equipment.
Return shipping: while we can arrange for return shipping on our end, it will speed up the return trip if you would be so kind as to include a return shipping label. This will also help simplify billing at the end of the repair process.

Whenever a new repair comes in, an email goes out. We will send a customer portal setup email that will show you past and present repairs and current status.
It’s pretty straightforward and easy to use. If your repair status says “awaiting diagnosis”, then you are queued up for diagnostic work.
If you haven’t received any emails from us after checking in, email the shop as soon as you can so we can make sure we are in contact!
Our Process
Check in
We will write up a check-in ticket based on initial conditions and get your contact info. Minimum fees will be stated, and we’ll collect your bench fee or express fee
Queue Up
At DJ Fix, you’re not just a name, you’re a number!
Our repair management system will put your repair into our queue and alert us once your equipment is due for the sweet loving arms of one of our techs.
Approve Repairs
Your repair may require your approval in the event we need to add parts or labor. (Or, to save time) you can tell us to just go ahead without needing to reach out.)
We send approval notices via email.
Pay and Pick-up
Once repairs are complete, you’ll receive a final, updated invoice which you can pay online or in the shop. We can hold your equipment for 30 days after repairs are completed. Let us know if you’re running late!
